Jacob Davis of Winchester, Tennessee is a man who wears many hats—each one reflecting a deep commitment to youth, conservation, and fellowship through the B.A.S.S. Nation program.
Those same values closely align with the mission of the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame: to celebrate, promote, and preserve the sport of bass fishing.
Long before stepping into his current role as President of the Tennessee B.A.S.S. Nation, Davis was already making a significant impact. As Youth Director for the state’s south-central region, he helped grow what would become the largest B.A.S.S. high school fishing program in Tennessee—introducing countless young anglers to the sport and its lifelong values.
His passion for conservation soon led him to take on the additional role of Conservation Director. In that capacity, Davis successfully secured both an AFTCO/B.A.S.S. Nation Conservation Grant and a Bass Fishing Hall of Fame grant to support habitat enhancement projects. Working alongside partners like the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, who contributed additional funding, these initiatives quickly gained momentum.
What makes these projects especially meaningful is the people behind them. B.A.S.S. Nation volunteers, high school fishing teams, and community partners all played a role—turning these efforts into hands-on opportunities to give back to the waters they love.
Today, as Tennessee B.A.S.S. Nation President, Davis continues to lead by example. He remains deeply involved in youth programming, regularly applies for conservation grants, and helps recruit teams and volunteers for lake cleanups and habitat projects across the state.
Over the years, his efforts have helped secure more than $50,000 in funding from AFTCO and the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame—leveraged further by tens of thousands of dollars in matching support from partners and sponsors.
His dedication has not gone unnoticed. Davis has been recognized with the Yamaha Rightwaters Ripple Effect Beacon Leadership Award and was named B.A.S.S. Conservation Director of the Year in 2020.
In recognition of his lasting impact on the sport and its future, the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame proudly presented Jacob Davis with the Meritorious Service Award.
