Scholarships
As many of the state and federal natural resource managers near retirement, there is a need to fill vacant positions with qualified individuals who understand and have a passion for sport fishing. To ensure that a pool of well-trained applicants is available for employers to choose from, Bass Fishing Hall of Fame is offering over $15,000 in college scholarships in 2024 for students seeking a degree in a natural resource field with a career goal of becoming a practicing fishery manager with a state, federal or provincial agency.

High Five! Bass Fishing Hall of Fame set to welcome Arbogast, McKinnis, Reese, Williams and Zona
The Bass Fishing Hall of Fame will enshrine five new members in 2024, all of whom can be called pioneers in their own unique way. The quintet of Fred Arbogast, Mike McKinnis, Skeet Reese, Alfred Williams and Mark Zona were selected in balloting conducted by the Hall of Fame’s 30-member Selection Panel and living Hall of Fame inductees. The new additions will bring the total number of Hall of Fame inductees to 100. The new class was chosen from a 12-man ballot that included a mix of dynamic personalities, on-the-water competitors, off-the-water innovators, and trailblazers. Seventy-seven ballots were circulated to those with voting privileges and 59 were returned, the most since the Hall of Fame began allowing living members of the Hall of Fame to vote in 2022.

Alfred Williams
2024

Mark Zona
2024
Mark Zona grew up in a southern suburb of Chicago. He caught his first bass at the age of 4 when his parents traveled to Sturgis, Michigan on a family vacation. That first bass sparked...
